I studied abroad in Canada after graduating from middle school, and then, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to enroll in a university in Canada. I had to serve in the military first, and then returned to the United States to pursue better opportunities.
From my experience with supervised study abroad programs for minors while studying abroad in Canada, Harvest Academy is an ideal institution for those whose primary goal is academic achievement and admission to a prestigious American university during their study abroad in the United States.
Compared to the managed study abroad programs I experienced as a minor, this one doesn't offer direct assistance because I'm studying abroad as an adult. However, I believe it's more valuable and helpful in the long run.
Also, it doesn't mean that they don't help you with everything 'directly', but if you ask for help with something, the managers will actively help you, or if they find it difficult to help you directly, they will provide detailed guidance on how to solve the problem.
When I studied abroad in Canada, the study abroad agency took care of everything, and I only met Korean friends. It felt more like I was studying abroad in Canada for an extended period, studying English with Koreans. Now that I'm an adult, I feel like I've truly studied abroad, understanding everything from everyday life to the complexities of academics on my own.
While everyone's goals for studying abroad may vary, the primary goal is generally to attend a prestigious university and achieve academic success. Harvest Academy is an excellent and reliable institution for this purpose. The academic management and university transfer support consulting courses were most helpful.
I especially benefited from the math classes taught by Mr. James. Several years ago, I was studying mathematics at a Canadian university, and during my freshman year, I studied Linear Algebra on my own. I was frustrated, getting a grade close to a C. Even considering the differences between community college and five-year universities, I was able to achieve an A after taking Mr. James's class. Most importantly, I was able to understand the material, which was crucial.
I don't think transferring without understanding the course content will be very meaningful (especially if it's related to your major). Ninety percent of the international students I studied with in Canada were admitted to prestigious universities like the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo with relative ease. However, more than half of them failed to keep up with the coursework, gave up on their degree, and returned to Korea to pursue other goals.
Of course, if you don't study on your own, Harvest Academy's help may be useless. In my experience, because it's a community college, it doesn't require as much effort as other prestigious universities. If you have the will to study diligently and prioritize academic achievement and transfer results, Harvest Academy will help you get into a prestigious university without major problems. If your English skills are somewhat lacking, it will be even more helpful.
I would like to thank the managers and CEO James for their systematic management and assistance in the transfer process.
