Hello, I am a student who has been with Harvest Academy for two years and was accepted to UCLA and UC Berkeley in the Fall of 2025.
As a native Korean, I made a bold decision to study abroad in California at a late age. Given the magnitude of my decision, I was determined to achieve the best possible results. After researching various study abroad programs, I chose Harvest Academy, believing it would be the best fit for my transfer application process. To cut to the chase, it was the best decision I made in my twenties. There are many reasons, but I'll share three of the most important.
First, math. If you were to ask everyone what the most important factor in transfer admissions is, they'd probably say academic GPA. Of those, math courses are the most crucial. STEM majors, in particular, are advised to take as many US college-level math courses as possible to ensure transfer success. At Harvest, CEO Kyung personally teaches the math classes. His teaching skills are unparalleled. In my opinion, he's the best in California. His thought processes, problem-solving approaches, and study habits, which I learned in Cal I/II/III, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations, were incredibly helpful, and those efforts translated into excellent grades on the actual exams. Thanks to him, I was able to finish with straight A's. And I'd like to highlight CEO Kyung's Linear Algebra class. Even if you excelled at math in Korea, I'm confident that any STEM major will face a major challenge in linear algebra at least once. In those instances, CEO Kyung's Linear Algebra lectures will be incredibly helpful. Seriously, I wouldn't have been able to transfer if it weren't for your Linear Algebra lectures. I hope you'll take your class and open your eyes to Linear Algebra.
Second, Harvest is comprised of top transfer specialists with a proven track record of securing numerous transfer acceptance letters from prestigious US universities. Driving in a foreign country, on a long, unfamiliar route, without a navigation system can be a journey fraught with unexpected risks. However, if you follow the navigation system's instructions and drive carefully and focused, you'll arrive at your destination before you know it. Harvest, like Google Maps, is a proven navigation system. Of course, this doesn't mean that individual effort is insignificant. Even with the best navigation system, if the driver disobeys directions and drives recklessly, the journey will inevitably be difficult. I believe the first requirement for transfer acceptance is a commitment to two years of hard work. However, if you're determined, Harvest will provide you with reliable guidance, both academically and in terms of administrative support for international students.
Third, the friends I met at Harvest. I don't think I've met anyone who didn't have a story. Each of us has our own story, and we all study with a passion. For two years, we shared information and career concerns with friends who shared similar goals, fostering a positive academic atmosphere that I believe contributed to my acceptance.
When I first landed at LAX two years ago, I seriously doubted my chances of getting into either LA or Berkeley. However, thanks to Harvest Academy, I was able to focus solely on my studies and succeed. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to CEO Kyung, Manager Christine, Manager Katherine, Teacher Benjamin, and Teacher Seokyoung Jang, who have helped us over the past two years. I am confident they will continue to guide our incoming students and achieve the results we desire.
While transferring to a prestigious university doesn't guarantee life success, I believe it's one of the few major milestones that all international students in the US aim for. To all of you reading this who are considering transferring, I hope you receive your acceptance letter from Dream School. Thank you.
